Donau Soja at Kyiv round table on EUDR, discussing deforestation-free soya supply chains and EU compliance for Ukrainian exporters.

Donau Soja recently took part in two key events in Kyiv, reflecting Ukraine’s growing efforts to align its agricultural sector with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and strengthen trade relations with the European Union.

At the round table New rules – shared solutions: How can Ukraine implement the EUDR?, initiated by the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB) and co-organised by Donau Soja, representatives from business, civil society and international organisations gathered to discuss the practical implications of the regulation, its impact on Ukraine’s agri-sector, and the way forward for exporters.

Donau Soja presented the main requirements of the EUDR for soybean supply chains and highlighted the immediate steps producers must take to ensure compliance.

“These requirements already apply to this year’s soybean harvest, as the regulation enters into force for medium and large companies on 30 December 2025. Ukrainian exporters must now implement a three-step due diligence process and provide geolocation data for all production fields”, stated Volodymyr Pugachov, Executive Director and Regional Director Eastern Europe at Donau Soja.

In a separate high-level meeting with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Donau Soja contributed to discussions on EU–Ukraine trade cooperation, underlining the importance of building transparent, deforestation-free supply chains and ensuring long-term access to EU markets.
