R&I projects
Legume Generation
The goal of Legume Generation is to boost the breeding of the major food and feed legume crops in Europe to support the EU Biodiversity and Farm to Fork strategies by making legume crops more competitive on European farms and in value chains. This will increase crop diversity and enable all the other benefits of legumes. Legume Generation is an innovation action. Innovation is about taking risks to improve how things are done. Our project is structured and focused to directly support our breeding partners and associates as risk-taking innovators.
Sonia-ProQ
SONIA-ProQ (Soybean Observation using NIRS for Attribute-Depending Prospective Quality Management) supports farms and soy processors in the utilisation of domestic soybeans for the production of animal feed. The project is doing pioneering work in the field of real-time process control in the treatment of soya beans. Technical optimisations based on near-infrared spectroscopy and imaging methods improve the product quality of soya products and the economic efficiency of processing.
MICROBIOMES4SOY
The project aims to improve the environmental impact of soybean production, explore the effects of soybean consumption on the human gut microbiome and contribute to the development of novel fish feeds for the aquaculture sector. Through a Multi-Actor Approach, the project will develop transition pathways that are ready to answer food system actors’ needs and deliver co-benefits relevant to the FOOD 2030 priorities.
