To support EU integration and expand knowledge about the non-GM EU regulatory framework, Donau Soja organised a trip for Ukrainian representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the National Scientific Centre “Institute of Agrarian Economics” as well as for representatives from Moldova to attend the Non-GMO Summit.
The summit, held 7-8 October in Frankfurt, brought together international participants from across the non-GMO value chain, including retailers, producers, scientists, and policymakers. It focused on the future of non-GMO production and discussed critical issues, such as potential regulatory changes related to New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) in the EU.
The day after the summit, Donau Soja facilitated a meeting between Alexander Hissting, head of Germany’s VLOG (Food without Genetic Engineering), and the Ukrainian representatives. This meeting aimed to learn from Germany’s experience with non-GMO food and consumer trends and to develop a shared vision for the pathway forward to EU Integration.
